When preparing its policy and proposals relating to consumer safety, public health and environment, the European Commission relies on the independent non-food Scientific Committees to provide it with sound scientific advice. Their opinions are vital for policy makers to ensure the highest level of health and environmental protection that European citizens expect from the European Union.

The European Commission is currently looking for top scientists to join the non-food Scientific Committees for the term 2016-2021. Your scientific skills can make a difference for the lives of European citizens. If you would like to be considered for membership of these Scientific Committees, this call is for you! You can apply for membership of:
• the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety ( SCCS)
• the Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER)
Each Committee consists of a maximum of 19 members. The working language is English.
