The inaugural Shane Kenny memorial biotechnology lecture

On 22nd of February at 13:00 Irish local time (14:00 CET)

Save the date: On 22nd of February at 13:00 Irish local time (14:00 CET) a biotechnology lecture in memory of Shane Kenny will be given by Professor Lars Blank, RWTH Aachen University (Germany). It will be co-hosted by the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science UCD and BiOrbic Bioeconomy SFI research centre.

Shane Kenny was a graduate of Industrial Microbiology at UCD and received a PhD in Microbiology.  He was the first employee of Bioplastech, a UCD spin out. He was a driver of many of the technological innovations in the company.  Sadly, Shane passed away in July of 2020.  He was a huge presence in our lives and is so greatly missed by us all.

Shane and Lars collaborated on two EU projects with Lars as co-ordinator (P4SB and MIX-UP).  Shane knew and respected Lars very much and so it is fitting that Lars should deliver the inaugural lecture.
